The Austin Midnight Basketball Program (AMB) is directed by James Silas, retired NBA San Antonio Spurs All Star. Silas is inducted into Louisiana and Texas Hall of Fame (San Antonio, TX), and the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame. He is a member of the "Top 30 ABA All-Time Team". The Association of Midnight Basketball League Program serves over 1500 program participants. James Silas also serves as the National Director of the Association of Midnight Basketball League Programs Inc., headquartered in San Antonio, TX. AMBLP, Inc.
James Silas The Non Profit Organization, ATHLETES SERVICES NETWORK OF AMERICA (ASNA) is in Austin, Texas to provide sports outreach and education programs to At-risk youth through their Austin Midnight Basketball Program (AMB).
2021 marks the 25th year of operation and funding for the Austin Midnight Basketball Program (AMB) League for Youth, having served over 3000 Program participants!
The game of basketball is played from 7 pm up to 10 pm. AMB selects National Basketball Association (NBA) Team names and provided non-gang color uniforms imprinted with the Midnight Basketball logo, and utilize gymnasiums on City Park and Recreation and on college campuses.
2014 marked the inaugural AMB Rookie League.
AUSTIN MIDNIGHT BASKETBALL is located in the City of Austin, Texas and recruits youth 12 - 18 years of age and coordinates them into 6 to 8 teams.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE IDENTIFIED TO MATCH PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS NEEDS AND MAY INCLUDE:

Community and Self Awareness programs
Seminars, workshops, and programs are held before games are played. They are designed to prepare these at-risk youth for life survival and include a wide variety of speakers and professionals to share life experiences on:

Drug & Alcohol Abuse Awareness & Counseling
How to Deal With Peer Pressure
Understanding and Coping with Gang Influence
National Midnight Basketball League Chapters are in over 54 U.S. cities and boast statistics of consistent reduced crime percentages since Midnight Basketball Leagues began. Austin Midnight Basketball Programs are funded through private business sponsors, The City of Austin, private citizens, foundations and corporations.
By supporting The Austin Midnight Basketball League Program sponsors are actively participating in a proactive approach to reduce crime statistics, contribute to producing taxpaying adults, and improve the quality of life for all citizens in Austin, Texas.
